March 25-29, 2017

Good-bye to our Family

March 25th began with a beautiful dawn.

Cordell and Andy took a walk around our lake. Unfortunately, the little alligator that has lived here for the past two years must have grown too much, because the old large gator killed him and left him floating on the top of the lake.

Our condo is on the bottom left in the center of the photo.

Andy and his family returned to Maryland today. We had an enjoyable week with them and had missed them while we have been away. Cordell had to celebrate 5:00 somewhere without them.

We are spoiled to seeing beautiful sunsets almost every day.

On March 27th, we spent a good part of the day geocaching in North Port and Port Charlotte which are north of Fort Myers. We have seen several areas in Florida that were partially developed for housing and then went bust before they could be built out. We drove on roads that have little to no homes along them. Some areas have no road signs, but have the street names painted on the pavement.

We saw what appeared to be an abandoned mobile home park. With so many snowbirds spending the winter months here, I cannot understand why this property is not being used.

We saw blooming plants growing in the wild.

We took it easy around the condo for the next couple of days. I had not been able to write on the blog for a long time, so we spent some time composing and publishing some posts. This is a joint project—I write the text and Cordell inserts the photographs.
