Relaxing Days
When we finally woke up on March 22nd, the morning,
the fog was so dense that we could hardly see the lake.
We all lazed around until noon. Janelle made egg salad
for lunch. It is something that I taught her when she was just barely old
enough to help around the kitchen. There were several years that she stayed
with me every other Monday and it became a tradition with us to have egg salad
sandwiches for lunch on those days.
Andy and his family treated us to dinner to celebrate our
birthdays which had passed at the end of February and the first week in March.
It was our choice, so we selected a local Italian restaurant named Two
Meatballs in the Kitchen.
We had another relaxing day on March 23rd.
We did venture out to play miniature golf. Corinne
surprised herself and us by getting four holes in one—and one of them awarded
her with a ticket for a free round. We will save that for next year.
Since this was just a week of vacation for Andy and his
family, we encouraged them to do any and everything they wanted. Today, March 24th, they
chose to go to the huge flea market.
It still intrigues us as to why shoppers like to bring
their dogs to the market and push them around in strollers.
We made a stop at a popular store which sells and ships
citrus and other products. Andy waited outside while Corinne, Cordell and I did
some shopping.
Later in the afternoon, Andy and his family drove to Venice to meet some friends and have dinner together. This was the last evening of vacation for them. It was a fast week, but we were so grateful that we could all be together again. We did have a beautiful sunset before they returned to the condo.
