Our two main decisions this morning were 1) Where do we
want to go geocaching? and 2) How do we dress? The Florida sun seems more
intense to me and the temperature can change very quickly--especially in the
late morning.
It was 62° at 9:30am when we left on a geocaching outing. Within
1/2 hour, the temperature rose 5 degrees and it felt more like what we
expected. We stopped by a geocache that I placed here three years ago. I named
it I Left My Heart In Fort Myers. It is a heart shaped tin and has heart type
items inside for cachers to take. It survived well over the past year since no
one has wrecked into the guardrail as has happened in the past. Our good local
geobuddy, Brian, keeps watch over it while we are away.
We drove about an hour north to Port Charlotte. For the
past two years we have been working on solving geocache puzzles. We consider
ourselves puzzle challenged, but over time, we have been able to solve 30+
puzzles in that area. We certainly did enjoy spending time outside on this
beautiful day.
